Floors & Slabs

Basement and porch slabs are typically 4" thick. Garage floors typically 4" to 6" thick depending on the amount of weight on it. Foam can be installed under these floors to create a thermal barrier. Slabs should always be reinforced with either steel or fiber mesh reinforcement. All floors are hand finished with great care. Texture options range from super smooth to fuzzy, broomed or stamped.

Control Joints: Concrete shrinks as it cures and cracks generally form. Control joints are either a formed joint or a saw cut joint that allows a crack to form in a straight line rather than a random line. Control joints are spaced at 2-3 times the thickness of the slab in feet. For example, a slab with a 4" thick average needs to be cut every 8' to 12'.
